92 points for Vega Escal

Our Priorat wine Vega Escal continues to win awards and score points all over the world. It has just been awarded 92 points by the Wine and Spirits Magazine in the USA – a really excellent rating for an oak-aged Priorat wine at this price point. It has also been given a 90 point rating by Josh Raynolds of North American magazine Vinous (previously the International Wine Cellar). He describes the wine, even better than we do ourselves: “Vivid ruby. Spicy redcurrant, raspberry and fresh flowers on the perfumed nose. Silky, spicy and seamless, offering deep, energetic red berry flavors. The smooth, lively and long finish displays an echoing raspberry note, gentle tannins and a touch of smokiness.”

Made from garnacha, cariñena and shiraz grapes from old vines grown on slopes and terraces of Priorat’s famed slate “licorella” soil, Vega Escal is selling extremely well in the US, Germany and Canada and we are now looking for distribution in other world markets.
