Long Wines launches new award-winning vintage of Solluna from DOQ Priorat | Long Wines

New gold medal winning vintage from Solluna

The new gold-medal winning vintage of Solluna – 2013 – is now available from Long Wines. Solluna 2013 from the DOQ Priorat was recently awarded a gold medal in the Berliner Wein Trophy 2016.

A blend of 60% Garnacha, 20% Merlot, 10% Cariñena and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon grown on the region’s famed Licorella soils (a blend of slate and quartz), this is an intensely complex, mineral wine, which offers outstanding value for money. A Vivino user described a previous vintage as a “vibrant, sensual Priorat princess with tight and slender earth, piercing plums and medium-length finish.”

The DOQ Priorat reported on an “excellent quality of grapes” in the 2013 harvest, with Decanter magazine describing it as “an Atlantic vintage: cooler, and promising more elegant, fragrant wines. Many producers are talking of an ideal vintage, with easily 10 years’ ageing capacity.”
