Las Carlinas in the German wine press

Las Carlinas Old Vine Garnacha garnered some recognition in Germany around ProWein earlier this year, with coverage in the key trade titles Wein + Markt  and Infodienst.de.

In an article entitled “Las Carlinas – New wine from old garnacha grapes”the feature on Infodienst.de explains how Garnacha was long regarded as one of the most popular red grape varieties in Spain, but lost popularity in the 20th Century. But with a return of interest in the grape, Long Wines‘ MD William Long decided to launch a new wine from old vine Garnacha. The article quotes William as explaining, „The wine was produced by our winemaker Fernando Mora in collaboration with the expert team of a small winery in the DO Campo de Borja, possesses a spicy minerality and floral note as well as intense fruit aromas”

Wein + Markt also made reference to the growing demand for wines from Garnacha. It explains that the grapes for the red wine from DO Campo de Borja are from over 25-year-old „bush-trained vines“ with „a maximum yield of 4,400 kg / ha“.
