New Pléyades Reserva from the “Highlands” of Catalunya
The new Gold medal winning 2010 vintage of the Reserva wine in the Pléyades range is now produced from 100% Shiraz or Syrah grapes sourced from the Terra Alta DO – an area of great natural beauty that served as inspiration to Picasso.
The vineyards are located on slopes just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea. High inland mountains protect the vines from the harsher continental climate, producing intense and fully mature grapes, while sea breezes maintain some freshness.
Aged in American and French oak barrels for 12 months, this wine from the excellent 2010 vintage has already been awarded a Gold Medal in the Berliner Wein Trophy. It joins the rest of the Pléyades range which includes a white Macabeo-Chardonnay, a Garnacha Rosado, and two reds – a Garnacha and a Shiraz – all sourced from the DO Campo de Borja.
