Chispas Gran Vas Brut – new category of Spanish sparkling wines
One of the newest products to hit our range is Chispas Gran Vas Brut. Made by a family-run winery in Catalonia, which has been producing sparkling wines since the 1950s, it is made from the three key Cava grapes – Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Parellada – but produced using the Gran Vas or Charmat method. This is same method that is used in Prosecco, where the second fermentation takes place in pressurized stainless steel tanks rather than in the bottle. This creates natural bubbles while retaining the fresh fruit flavours of the base wine.
The label is inspired by traditional azulejo tile patterns and the colours of Andalusian Fajalauza pottery, reflecting Spanish craftsmanship.
