91 points for RAR White Garnacha

RAR Essencia Blanc 2018, the white Priorat made by Ricard Rofes of Scala Dei and his wife Magda Pellicer has just received a 4 star, 91 Point review from Denmark’s top wine critic, Niels Lillelund in leading Danish newspaper, Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten.

He describes it as an “Interesting wine with a distinct mineral character. Layered, tantalising with lots of citrus notes mixed with exotic fruit. Pronounced dry character, elegant, really worth a try.”

The 2019 vintage of RAR is a relatively recent addition to the Long Wines portfolio.

RAR Essencia Blanc is a blend of 70% Garnacha Blanca and 30% Macabeo from calcareous clay soil parcels in the village of Escaladei, in the high regions of Priorat (400-600m) giving the typicity and freshness of the region.
