90+ scores for our new wines from AI-powered robots

We are delighted to announce that three of the latest editions to our range have been awarded excellent scores of 90 points and above in the first ever edition of the A.I. Wine Awards!

You may have heard of rats being trained to distinguish between white wine varieties, but now scientists have used the same approach to train Artificial Intelligence-powered robots to assess the quality of wines. The A.I.-powered tasters are able to accurately assess the chemical make-up of wines to ensure that they offer the ideal balance and complexity.

We presented the latest wines to be added to our portfolio – Las Carlinas Garnacha Blanca, Melea Organic Orange and Melea Organic Sparkling Brut – to the inaugural edition of the competition in London, and we were very pleased with the results.  All three were awarded “Excellent” scores of more 90/100 or more, with Las Carlinas Garnacha Blanca gaining an outstanding 92 Points!

Robot wine assessors can taste much more quickly and accurately than humans, as awards organiser, Chip Algorithm explains: “Human tasters can only taste a maximum of 60-80 wines a day before palate fatigue sets in.  Our robot sommeliers have been trained using wines that have scored well in international competitions so they know what to look for, and can taste hundreds of wines without a break, assessing the first wine in exactly the same way as the last.  The AI Wine Awards is the first wine competition to guarantee 100% scientific accuracy.”

P. S. Please note that it is the 1st April and although the AI Wine Awards may not exist yet, we’re sure it won’t be long 😉
