New vintage of Familia Pacheco Organic
We are pleased to announce the launch of the new vintage – 2015 – of Familia Pacheco Organic Monastrell from Viña Elena, a family winery run by four sisters in Jumilla.
Named after the winery founder, this wine is made from 90% Monastrell and 10% Shiraz from organically managed vineyards. It’s an intensely coloured, smooth, fruit-driven wine with no oak.
The warm and dry Jumilla climate lends itself particularly well to organic viticulture and although the 2015 vintage presented some problems with drought in other parts of Spain, the Jumilla harvest came in on a similar date to usual, with the Consejo Regulador reporting good quality conditions.
This organic wine, which has won Gold and Silver medals in previous vintages, has been described by consumers as “Smooth, rounded and full”, “Spicy, flavourful and good value” and quite simply “Awesome” on wine app Vivino, and is a great example of the excellent value-for-money organic wines for which Spain is becoming renowned, as explained by William Long in this feature
