Decanter awards Botijo Garnacha Blanca 91 Points

We are delighted to announce that Botijo Blanco Garnacha Blanca 2018, produced by Fernando Mora MW at Bodegas Frontonio, and distributed by Long Wines, has been awarded 91 points by distinguished UK wine magazine, Decanter.

The wine, which was tasted by experts Pedro Ballesteros Torres MW, Sarah Jane Evans MW and Pierre Mansour at Decanter Magazine’s Garnacha Blanca panel tasting in November 2019, was described as displaying: “alluring aromas of citrus and peach with some floral and herbal hints. Soft, well-balanced and elegant, with a creamy, silky texture.“

It proved that the Botijo range offers exceptional value for money, being one of the more affordable wines to be awarded an “exceptional” rating, up against wines from Priorat and Terra Alta that retail at 20-30€ or more.

Sarah Jane Evans MW opened the article by stating that although, “Garnacha Blanca may not be as well-known as Spain’s other native white grapes, this tasting showed that, in the hands of talented winemakers, it can be a hidden gem.”
